With being sick these past 3 weeks (respiratory infection) my daily walks and hikes came to a standstill. I'm much better now and hope to get in more birding (and view fellow bloggers pictures) this week. I did find beauty in my back yard and enjoyed hearing the buzz of tiny wings doing 'fly-bys' and general Hummingbird chirping. At first they were skittish of me and the Canon but soon figured out I was pretty harmless and continued about their business and allowed me to take their photos :)

Old & New Birds-Wed. Wings

I believe this is a male (first year) House Finch, although I had to scramble for the Stokes Field guide to help with identification as this is the first yellow one I have ever seen.

Brown-headed and Bronzed Cowbirds are common to our area but here again this is a new bird for me. He was not Mr. Popularity at the feeder as the other birds would not tolerate him and succeeded in running him off.

'The Fortress' Wings on Wed.'

I usually see one Raven on the nest but on this day Mom & Pop Raven were dutifully guarding their nestlings near the top of this tall structure.

Puff of Grey - Wings on Wed.

Bushtit  -  Prescott, Az.   (my backyard)

This Bushtit posed for that needed 'extra second' and I was fortunate to take an up close photo as they are very skittish, and usually fly/ hunt in large groups :)

Western Kingbird-Wed. Wings

                                                  Western Kingbird - Prescott, Az.

This Western Kingbird  also did a fancy flight type of 'wing' dance - probably to attract a nearby female. I wasn't fast enough to hit the record mode of my camera before he flew away......drat!
