Happy 1st Day of Spring

Early Spring wildflower in Prescott Nat'l Forest

Achoo! This Makes Us Wheeze & Sneeze

It looks like a forest fire but these are pictures of  POLLEN during our Wed. morning hike in the Prescott Nat'l Forest. As we got closer I realized it was NOT smoke or dust, but amazing clouds of pollen coming off  the trees carried by the breeze. The pollen was all over this particular area and these are the best pics.
                                             Sniffle... sneeze......achoo! .... claritin alert!

Gotcha! White-Crowned Sparrow/Wed.Wings

Sitting pretty, high up in a tree .......

Nesting Double-crested Cormorants

The trees on the south shore of Willow Lake are crowded with  Cormorants building their nests

Visible "double crests"  with this pair of Cormorants

This Cormorant looks hilarious with his crest sideways :)

Sun shining through the "crest"

Double-crested Cormorant in flight

This Cormorant pair are done building their nest and I wonder how many mouths they will have to feed?
