'The Fortress' Wings on Wed.'

                                                     

I usually see one Raven on the nest but on this day Mom & Pop Raven were dutifully guarding their nestlings near the top of this tall structure.

This Bushtit posed for that needed 'extra second' and I was fortunate to take an up close photo as they are very skittish, and usually fly/ hunt in large groups :)

This Western Kingbird  also did a fancy flight type of 'wing' dance - probably to attract a nearby female. I wasn't fast enough to hit the record mode of my camera before he flew away......drat!

Resident Roadrunner-Wed.Wings

Finally!  All moved in and getting familiar with new surroundings.  This Greater Roadrunner has been making daily appearances late afternoon in our backyard.   We have new trails to hike and the lakes are close by and although there is still a lot to be done I will soon be back into a regular routine that I have missed the past month.
