The two-tailed swallowtail butterfly (Papilio multicaudata) was designated the official state butterfly of Arizona in 2001.

It is interesting to see the butterflies that are not found here in the Ohio Valley. This year has been wonderful for butterflies. We have had so much rain but still plenty of sunshine that there are so many flowers blooming giving the butterflies and caterpillars plenty of food.
